Arsenal chief Raul Sanllehi has denied there is a 'barrier' between Mesut Ozil and Unai Emery as speculation surrounding the German's future intensifies.
Ozil has failed to make Arsenal's 18-man squad in each of their last three matches having fallen down the pecking order under Emery.
The Gunners are keen to offload the World Cup winner in order to free up some of his £350,000-a-week wages.
Fenerbahce are understood to be in pole position to seal a loan move for Ozil in January, but Sanllehi has given the 30-year-old a shred of hope that he could yet have a future at the Emirates.
Speaking at an Arsenal fans forum, he said: "Unai has had many good players in other teams also, and he has always followed the same policy.
"That is to try not to make any distinctions, play the ones who work hard in training and reward the effort with playing time.
"There is nothing against Mesut on the contrary and I hope we get to see him much more in the next games because his qualities are without question.
"But he needs to contribute 24/7 and that’s what Unai expects from him.
"It’s not that he’s not working so well, but there are others who are deserving more playing time, but Unai can’t treat him differently than any other player.
"You may have read that Unai has put a barrier up, but nothing at all like this has happened."
Ozil has made just two appearances for Arsenal this season, including a Carabao Cup run-out against Nottingham Forest, featuring for just 142 minutes in total.
