Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham and the Premier League to make decision on fake noise in stadiums

Clubs in the Premier League are expected to be asked to approve the broadcasting of crowd noise from the FIFA 20 video game at their meeting on Thursday.

All 20 clubs are due to meet on Thursday, with another lengthy and detailed video conference call expected as plans continue to be made for a restart to the season on June 17.

And now it is claimed that the use of the soundtrack from the video game has emerged as the Premier League's preferred option to improve the televisual spectacle of matches.

According to a report from the Sports Mail, the use of fake crowd noise will be optional for viewers in the UK and available on the red button rather than on main channels.

Football is back – but how will it work?

The report goes on to add that the Premier League's broadcast advisory group have also come up with more innovations which will be put to clubs on Thursday.

These include a fan mosaic in the stands at each game representing the clubs involved, 360° replays and a new tactical cam operated by the Premier League's analytics provider, Second Spectrum.

While the Liverpool ECHO are reporting that plans to play games at neutral venues will also be discussed at Thursday’s meeting.

Reports on Friday claimed that 12 matches had been deemed high-risk by the authorities and would need to be played at neutral venues.

Speaking on the proposal, Premier League chief executive Richard Masters said over the weekend: "In the next seven to 10 days we will have a clearer picture about whether any of our fixtures are going to have to be played in neutral venues. We hope the number will be low."
