Arsenal can take advantage of Real Madrid's Kylian Mbappe transfer plan with £68m bargain deal

Arsenal could take advantage of Real Madrid's plan to sign Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe in the summer transfer window. Los Blancos are looking to sign a replacement for Karim Benzema after the Frenchman left the club to join Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad last month.

The Gunners have already completed the signing of Kai Havertz - who was linked with a switch to Madrid - from Chelsea in a £65million deal. West Ham captain Declan Rice and Ajax defender Jurrien Timber are both in London and will undergo their medical tests as Arsenal look set to announce both signings by the end of the week.

Rice and Timber will join Havertz at the Emirates Stadium and take the Gunners' summer spend over £200million ahead of their pre-season tour of America. Granit Xhaka has completed a £21.5million transfer to Bayer Leverkusen after seven years at Arsenal - weakening Mikel Arteta's options in midfield.

Thomas Partey has also been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium. Juventus are interested in signing the Ghana international - who is keen to stay in Europe despite interest from Saudi Arabia.

This could force the Gunners into signing another midfielder after the imminent arrival of Rice. Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde have both been linked with a move to north London this summer.

A report from Marca has stated that Madrid are looking to raise funds this summer as they pursue a deal to sign Mbappe from PSG. The French striker has revealed that he does not intend to extend his contract at the Parc des Princes Stadium with his current deal set to expire next year.

PSG are unwilling to let their star forward leave on a free transfer next summer and have set a clear stance on Mbappe: either leave this summer or extend your contract. The France international has continuously been tipped to make a mega-money move to the Santiago Bernabeu and now Madrid seem to be ready to make that happen.

However, after already signing Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth an initial £88million, the Spanish giants are said to be open to selling either Tchouameni or Valverde this summer to fund a move for Mbappe. This could allow Arsenal to pick one of them up for a bargain price.

Marca state that Tchouameni and Valverde could be available for between £68million-£85million this summer. This would be a bargain price for the Gunners who could have the chance to improve their midfield drastically as they look to mount another Premier League title charge and challenge in the Champions League next season.
