Arsenal can complete Mikel Arteta's dream midfield wish as Real Madrid transfer plans revealed

Real Madrid's plans in regards to signing a long-term replacement for Karim Benzema could have an effect on Arsenal.

Finding a successor to the Frenchman won't be easy, but two names who have been heavily linked with moves to the Santiago Bernabeu are Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.

However, due to the financial impacts of COVID-19 and financial fair play rules money is very tight for Los Blancos who would have to stump a fee of well over £100m to secure a deal for at least one this summer.

And this is where Arsenal could play a huge role in helping the La Liga giants complete one of their transfer missions.

Currently on loan at the Emirates Stadium from Real Madrid are Martin Odegaard and Dani Ceballos.

And it just so happens that recent reports have suggested that Gunners manager Mikel Arteta would like to keep both of them in his squad for next season, with technical director Edu currently working on deals to make their moves permanent in the summer.

Arteta has made no secret of his admiration for Ceballos and suggested last week that plans are in place to discuss Odegaard's long-term future will take place at the end of the season.

"He is a young leader," Arteta said as quoted by Sky Sports. "He has been here a very short time but he has adapted very quickly. He is getting more and more respect from the players and the staff and his weight on the team will increase with every week.

"We have Martin for a few months from Real Madrid and first of all we have to maximise this time with him to try to bring to the team all the qualities he has.

"At the end of the season we will sit together and decide where we can take that relationship forward.

"At the moment it doesn't just depend on us."

If Arsenal were able to secure transfers for both Odegaard and Ceballos this would go a long way to helping Real Madrid fund a move for Haaland or Mbappe this summer.

Furthermore, if reports are to be believed, signing the aforementioned players would complete Arteta's dream midfield wish.

In a potential financial boost for the Gunners, according to transfermarkt' s valutions, deals for both midfielders may not be too expensive.

Ceballos is valued at £28.8m , with Odegaard slightly higher at £36m , so a £60m double bid may be enough to sign the two players permanently and also boost Real Madrid's budget to seal a deal for Haaland or Mbappe.
