Arsenal boss Unai Emery explains how things will be different in Napoli

Arsenal boss Unai Emery warned his side will find it tough in Napoli despite the Gunners taking control in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final.

But he said Aaron Ramsey is on a quest to leave Arsenal in a blaze of glory after midfielder opened the scoring in a commanding 2-0 win at the Emirates Stadium.

Ramsey, who is leaving for Juventus in the summer, fired the Gunners ahead in the first half, before Lucas Torreira's strike took a wicked deflection off Kalidou Koulibaly to secure a 2-0 lead from the first leg.

Emery said Arsenal's game plan worked a treat, with the Gunners limiting Carlo Ancelotti's Napoli to few chances.

"The first 90 minutes here we can impose a big plan," said Emery. "They can control ball with possession. They had one chance in the first half then two chances in second half."

But he rued the fact Arsenal didn't score a third goal, and warned his side against complacency, insisting the tie is only "50-50" ahead of the trip to Naples to face the Serie A high-fliers next Thursday.

Emery said: "We deserved a third goal. Away there is going to be different. We need to be focused and clear. No more confident than we need."

Askd if Arsenal are now favourites to progress to the semi-final, Emery said: “It’s 50-50. This does not change it. Playing away, I know, will be difficult and both teams can still go through."

Ramsey gave Arsenal the lead early in the first half when he put the finishing touch to an eye-catching move that included Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Mesut Ozil, Alexandre Lacazette and Maitland-Niles again.

And Emery was asked afterwards whether Ramsey has extra motivation this season to land Arsenal a trophy before he leaves for Juventus.

“He is awesome," said Emery of the Wales midfielder. “He wants to do something important for us. He feels a lot for Arsenal and here with our supporters."
