Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta told how to beat Crystal Palace as Thomas Partey warning issued

Arsenal fans have identified a player who they hope will score against Crystal Palace thanks to a rather surprising statistic.

Mikel Arteta's side welcome Crystal Palace to the Emirates Stadium on Monday night for a match which will see club legend Patrick Vieira return to the club where he won three Premier League titles and four FA Cups.

With Arsenal kicking off 13th in the table, the side will be well aware that defeat would see them fall below the Eagles.

But fans have offered some help in their bid to win – by revealing a weakness in their opponent's defence.

According to fans on Twitter, Crystal Palace have conceded more goals from outside the box than any other Premier League team this season.

And that has led to fans being hopeful that midfielder Thomas Partey might be able to get himself on the scoresheet.

In a tweet, @Orbinho wrote: "Crystal Palace have conceded more goals from outside the penalty area than any other Premier League team this season (5) - over to you @Thomaspartey22."

The statistic got Arsenal fans on Twitter rather excited.

@MrKini3 replied: "Thomas Partey Golazo incoming."

@jamo_free added: "He has scored recently for his country and he's playing in front of Vieira that everyone compares him too. It's on."

But others weren't quite so hopeful.

@hayden_mike replied: Shame "Arsenal can’t shoot from outside the box."

@TheoTheo_14 wrote: "Not outside the stadium mate."

@Jaymesafc added: "Don't encourage him."
