Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta speaks out on reported Liverpool transfer target Bukayo Saka

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has spoken out on the future of reported Liverpool target Bukayo Saka amid rumours that the Reds could try and sign the left-back during the summer.

The 18-year-old full-back has been playing regularly for the Gunners in recent weeks and Saka has managed nine assists and scored three goals in all competitions so far this campaign to date.

Saka, who can also operate higher up the field, has been filling in for the injured Sead Kolasinac and Kieran Tierney, and his performances have drawn plenty of positive attention.

On the prospect of Saka signing a new deal, Arteta told Sky Sports News: "It is something the club has to get sorted.

"My priority is that he continues to play like he is doing and he keeps developing. He is always asking the right questions.

"He is a very brave guy. Every time he gets into the final third, he is trying to cause problems for the opponent.

"He deserves these chances, he is doing very well and that's why he is in the team."

Should the Reds opt to make a move for the youngster, Manchester United are rumoured to be set provide competition.

Saka has around 18 months remaining on his Arsenal contract, which was signed in September 2018.
