Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta delivers Hector Bellerin injury update ahead of Crystal Palace clash

It looks like being a case of 'as you were' for Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta this weekend.

The Gunners travel across London to take on Crystal Palace in the Saturday lunchtime kick-off at Selhurst Park.

And Arteta will have the same squad available to him that beat Manchester United on New Year's Day and saw off Leeds United in the third round of he FA Cup.

Calum Chambers and Kieran Tierney are on the long-term injured list, with Hector Bellerin the only other player on the sidelines currently.

The 24-year-old worked his way back from a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament injury to return to the first team in September, having been out since January.

But after three Premier League appearances in November and December, Bellerin picked up a hamstring injury during the warm-up for the Brighton game and has not been seen since.

Bellerin was being assessed ahead of the Leeds clash, but was not deemed fit enough to be part of the squad, and it appears that will be the case again for the match with the Eagles.

Speaking during his pre-match press conference, Arteta confirmed: "I don't think we're going to get anyone back in the squad. Hector is a little better but still not there."

Arsenal remain in mid-table, but there have been shoots of recovery under Arteta. He is wary of the challenge that faces his side at Selhurst Park though.

He added: "Every time I played there as a player I suffered and it will be tough this time."
