Arsenal have made their first signing of the summer transfer window.
Willian has signed a three-year deal at the Emirates Stadium as the Gunners secured the Brazilian on a free transfer after the expiry of his contract at Chelsea.
The Blues were keen to keep a hold of the winger, but a disagreement over the length of the deal meant that the player chose to leave Stamford Bridge in favour of getting a longer contract at Arsenal.
The Gunners have been heavily linked with the former Chelsea man since the start of the window, with Arsenal confirming the deal on Friday morning.
Having penned his deal at Arsenal, the new man took to social media to send a message to Gunners’ fans.
"Hi guys, it's Willian here. Looking forward to playing my first game at the Emirates Stadium. See you guys, let's go Arsenal!" he said in a video posted by the club.
After the news broke, football.london’s James Benge and Art de Roche took to Facebook to give their reaction to the news.
Topics covered included, the length of the deal given to Willian, how he will fit into Mikel Arteta’s side and the latest on what transfer move could be next.
