Arsenal and West Ham eye summer transfer bid for Fulham loanee Joachim Andersen

Arsenal and West Ham are considering a move for Fulham loan star Joachim Andersen this summer.

The Gunners have yet to agree a new deal with David Luiz, who is out of contract at the end of the season, and are studying their options for a replacement central defender.

While the Hammers and boss David Moyes are looking to strengthen their squad for what they hope will be a Champions League campaign after a dazzling march into the top four.

Andersen, 24, has impressed at Fulham despite their struggles during his loan from Lyon and that has prompted interest from the two London clubs.

Lyon's financial situation, like many other clubs, has been hit by the coronavirus crisis are the Ligue 1 side are expected to cash in on him.

The player is also keen to stay in the Premier League.

Fulham would love to keep the £20million-rated centre-back but, with relegation likely, they know there’s little chance of that happening.

The Danish international has made 27 appearances for Fulham this season and has a good relationship with boss Scott Parker.

Reports elsewhere have also linked Tottenham with Andersen's signature, while Lyon chief Juninho Pernambucano has not ruled out his return to the Groupama Stadium.

Speaking earlier this month, Pernambucano said: "I think he will want to extend his adventure in the Premier League.

"He has played well at Fulham, and if he wants to come back, we will welcome him with open arms."
