Both Arsenal and German club VfL Bochum have moved to condemn racial abuse that the Gunners on loan full-back suffered during a pre-season game against Swiss club St Gallen.
The 20-year-old signed a year long loan deal with the Bundesliga 2 club at the start of the month, and has been taking part in the club's preparations ahead of the new season.
It was during Bochum's 3-0 pre-season friendly loss against St Gallen that the Arsenal youngster received racial abuse, an incident which both his loan and parent club have moved quickly to condemn.
A Tweet on the German club's Twitter account read "MeinVfL vehemently condemns all forms of racism. Jordi, we stand behind you!
"The incident in yesterday's test game against @FCSG_1879 will be further processed with all participants. The club reserves the right to take further steps."
Arsenal have also released a statement regarding the incident reiterating the fact that any type of discrimination, including racism, has no place in the modern day game.
"Last night Jordi Osei-Tutu received unacceptable racial abuse playing for VfL Bochum during a pre-season friendly match against Swiss club St Gallen," the statement read.
"We are working closely with Bochum and Jordi and we are giving him our full support.
"Racism has no place in our game and we do not tolerate any form of discrimination."
Bochum's opponents FC Gallen also released a statement regarding the issue.

"FC St.Gallen 1879 makes clear that it strongly condemns all forms of racism and discrimination. Corresponding misconduct would be immediately sanctioned. Our players treat each other respectfully," read a statement on their Twitter account.
"Regardless of origin, skin color or religion. The affected player has plausibly assured in a clarifying conversation with those responsible to have kept to this policy in the match against VfL Bochum yesterday."
The player himself has too had his say on the incident.
“I am very disappointed about what happened," he told the official Arsenal website.
“No one should ever be subject to any discrimination and it is really hard to understand how a fellow professional footballer could do this. Arsenal and Bochum have provided great support to me and I hope that if nothing else, we can show that racism has no place within football."
