Arsenal and Tottenham told when to expect Gabriel Jesus transfer decision after agent statement

The agent of Gabriel Jesus has claimed that the future of the striker will be decided after the upcoming international break. It comes amid reported interest from both Arsenal and Tottenham this summer.

The two North London clubs are off the back of an intense battle in the Premier League, with both eyeing a top four spot. However, that battle was eventually won by Spurs, who finished fourth and confirmed Champions League football for next season.

As for the Gunners, they make a return to the Europa League, with a number of changes needed to the side heading into the summer transfer window. Discussing the need for a striker, Mikel Arteta said: "He puts the ball in the net – that’s priority number one. Goal threat. Any successful team needs enough goal threat in the squad. Without it, you have nothing.

"You can play good football, but you need enough goal threat in the team. The other thing is that he has to complement the other people we have, personally and on the pitch. We need the right profile."

In that search, the Spaniard has been linked with a move for Manchester City forward Jesus, though the Lilywhites are also rumoured to be interested in their search for another striker. The Brazilian has one-year remaining on his contract and his ability to find the net is only complemented by his work off the ball.

However, amid the race to sign the 25-year-old, his agent has spoken out about the future. Marcelo Pettinati told the Manchester Evening News: "At the moment we're understanding all of the projects, so right now isn't the time to say anything. Things will advance after his time with the national team."

Brazil have three games in the upcoming international break, playing until June 11, meaning that any deal is likely to progress from then onwards. Whether he ends up at either North London side remains to be seen, however, it could make for an interesting battle.
