Arsenal and Tottenham tipped for Premier League title bid by World Cup-winning Brazil legend

Arsenal and Tottenham have been tipped to make a title charge.

Both clubs have made a statement in the transfer window with the likes of Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon joining Tottenham and Thomas Partey and Gabriel Magalhaes joining Arsenal.

Those signings could help the two London clubs bridge the gap to the very elite of the Premier League, according to Brazil legend Rivaldo.

"Spurs and Arsenal have both made good signings and started well in the Premier League," the World Cup winner told Betfair.

Arsenal stars in England training

"Based on what we've seen so far, I expect a big title fight with six or seven clubs in contention.

"It will be a very exciting season in England and these two London clubs look equipped to be battling for the title or at least a top four finish."

Both Arsenal and Tottenham have enjoyed very decent starts to the season, the Gunners racking up nine points from four games, as many as reigning champions Liverpool, while Spurs have amassed seven from their opening outings.

Everton lead the league with 12 points, while Manchester City, who many believed would be right up there again this season, have just four points from three games.

Arsenal take on Manchester City this weekend in what will be a serious test of their title credentials early in the season, while Tottenham welcome West Ham as they look to build on their 6-1 hammering of Manchester United.
