Arsenal and Tottenham handed Andrea Belotti update as Torino coach confirms transfer stance

Torino manager Ivan Juric has provided an update on the future of Andrea Belotti.

The Italian striker comes to the end of his contract in June 2022 and is yet to sign a new deal with the club.

He’s subsequently been linked with moves across Europe, with Arsenal and Tottenham amongst the clubs who’ve taken an interest in him.

The 27-year-old is a proven goalscorer in Serie A, and as he will be available on the cheap – potentially on a free transfer if Torino don’t sell him in January – it’s a deal that would appeal to both north London clubs to some degree.

Torino Granata recently reported that the club would be open to selling the Italian in the January transfer window, but there is concern from the player's point of view that it could scupper his chances of representing Italy at next year's World Cup, with a starting spot at the Emirates or Spurs far from certain.

However, if Juric’s recent comments are anything to go by, a January transfer is looking unlikely at this point.

“He won’t leave in January, he’ll see himself here till the end of the season,” he said, via SempreInter.com.

“It’s useless to speculate, nothing will happen. I hope he will have a great season, then we will look each other in the eyes and he will choose his future. There will be no approaches, I hope he will have a good year and then we’ll see.”

With the long-term futures of both Alexandre Lacazette and Harry Kane uncertain, Belotti is the calibre of player that would be a welcomed addition in either side of north London, but there’s still a long way to go with this particular transfer.
