Arsenal and Tottenham can sign £36m Dusan Vlahovic alternative ahead of January transfer window

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Bayer Leverkusen striker Patrik Shick, according to recent reports.

The two north London clubs have been fiercely linked with Fiorentina frontman Dusan Vlahovic in recent times, with a number of reports in Italy claiming that they are both chasing the Serbian international, who refused a contract extension with the Serie A side.

Earlier this week, Italian transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio claimed that Spurs have an advantage over the Gunners in the race to sign Vlahovic, who could reportedly cost in excess of £70million.

Speaking on the 21-year-old's future to Wettfreunde, Di Marzio said: "It depends on which project, how much money is he being given.

"Arsenal, for example, his agents do not want to speak to them. They think Arsenal is not enough for him and his career. They think that Tottenham or Man City or Man Utd are more [of a] fit for him.

"Tottenham with Antonio Conte as coach, is the right fit for him. He could be a replacement for [Harry] Kane or even play with him, for one year. He can improve with Kane, by training with him, during the matches.

"I think that he can learn from a top player like Kane. One year behind Kane, or he can play with him - that should be the right fit for him."

However, the Daily Star have reported that Vlahovic's excessive wage demands could price him out of a move to the Premier League, with the 21-year-old said to be desperate to earn over £200,000-per-week at his next club.

Now, 90min have claimed that the two north London outfits are interested in the aforementioned Shick as a cheaper alternative to Vlahovic.

Shick is valued at £36million on Transfermarkt, garnering attention from a host of European clubs, including Everton, Manchester City and West Ham United, according to the report.

And it is no shock to see why the Czech Republic international is wanted, considering he has already scored 16 times in the Bundesliga this season, three more than Borussia Dortmund frontman Erling Haaland.
