Arsenal and Scotland's Kieran Tierney handed major Euro 2020 injury boost

Kieran Tierney has received a huge injury boost ahead of Scotland's appearance at the Euros this summer after it was announced he is set to return to training at club side Arsenal in "two to three weeks."

The former Celtic star was sweating on his place in the squad set to be out until the middle of June after an ankle injury sustained in a 3-0 defeat to Liverpool at the start of the month.

And Gunners gaffer Mikel Arteta stated it looked like Tierney's season was over.

However, an injury update on the Arsenal website this afternoon has provided great news for the Tartan Army and Gunners fans, as the left-back looks set to return well ahead of schedule.

The update reads: "Kieran sustained ligament damage to his left knee during the match against Liverpool on April 3.

"Kieran continues to make positive progress and is hoping to be back in training within two to three weeks."

Scotland kick-off their Euro campaign on June 14 at Hampden against Czech Republic and boss Steve Clarke must name his squad by June 1.

But Muirhouse man Tierney could be fit enough to return for Arsenal's clash Premier League with Crystal Palace on May 15 and their final league match of the campaign at home to Brighton on May 23, so it looks like he will have a few weeks to return to full fitness ahead of a huge summer with his country.
