Arsenal and Mikel Arteta suffer injury scare ahead of Man City clash

Arsenal have suffered an injury scare ahead of tonight's Premier League clash against Manchester City.

@D2Smedia are reporting that Sokratis misses the clash at the Etihad Stadium with a knock that hasn't yet been disclosed and it remains to be seen how long the Greek defender is out of action.

No Sokratis means at least one change to the starting line-up against West Ham United almost three months ago.

On that occasion, Sokratis started at right-back alongside David Luiz, Pablo Mari and Bukayo Saka. It's a position the former Borussia Dortmund star has been used in quite frequently by Gunners head coach Mikel Arteta.

The obvious candidate to come in for Sokratis is Hector Bellerin.

The Gunners vice-captain was working his way towards full fitness when the season was suspended, and the three month break will have benefited him.

Speaking ahead of the game, Arteta opened up on his side's preparations.

"It wasn't exactly a pre-season! I didn't have the players for six weeks but we tried to use everything that we could," he said during his pre-match press conference.

"If you ask me 'what have you learned most?' then it has probably been using different ways of communicating and using technology is one of them.

"From my side, it's hard to communicate with players and talk to them and try to get into them as well without touching them, without seeing them, so that has been a challenge.

"But we've been trying to do everything that we could to help them to understand better what we are trying to do, to convince them that it is the right way for them to enjoy their profession and let's see if we've done a good job or not."
