Arsenal's injury curse has struck once again.
Earlier in the month the Gunners lost Hector Bellerin to injury in the warm-up ahead of the 3-1 win over West Ham United at the London Stadium - the last time the side has tasted victory.
In the same game Kieran Tierney suffered a dislocated shoulder which will rule him out of action until March.
Then in the 1-1 draw with Bournemouth on Boxing Day, Sokratis had to go off injured following a clash of heads and was ruled out of the game with Chelsea as per concussion protocols.
The Greek centre-back was replaced by Calum Chambers - available again following suspension - and 24-year-old registered an assist for the opening goal of the game at the Emirates Stadium.
Flicking on from Mesut Ozil's corner, Chambers' header dropped nicely for captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to break the deadlock from close range.
However, moments later joy turned to concern.
Chambers went down and stayed down after a rather innocuous coming together with Tammy Abraham.
Replays showed the Gunners might have a problem with his knee and it was serious enough for the defender to be replaced by Shkodran Mustafi and he's now a doubt to face Manchester United on New Year's day.
Chambers was one of the first players to speak out on what new head coach Mikel Arteta wanted from the players.
And in turn the Spaniard set out his plans for the versatile player.
"He's come a long way," Arteta said in his pre-Bournemouth press conference.
"I know him very well because we played together and shared the dressing room here
"I always liked him with the attitude desire and his willingness to learn, I think he's come a long way. He seems excited, that's what I am feeling."
