William Saliba has been voted as France football's hottest prospect.
The Arsenal wonderkid came out on top in a poll that had over 90,000 votes as he passed through various stages and received 56 per cent of the votes when in the final round.
Via Get French Football News, a poll was put together on Twitter to see get a verdict on who the most talented young player in the country is, and
Given Gunners supporters' history with hijacking polls in order to ensure one of their own comes out on top, there's bound to be some theories into how Saliba won the award.
Interestingly, the list includes two players linked with a move to Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard could be a replacement should one of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Alexandre Lacazette leave, although Hoops head coach Neil Lennon has confirmed talks for a contract extension are underway.
The other player Saliba has beaten to the award is Dayot Upamecano.
football.london understands that the Frenchman has been on the Gunners' radar for quite some time now and links have increased ahead of the summer transfer window.
For many supporters, Upamecano would be a dream signing for Mikel Arteta this summer as bolstering the defence should be a priority following another difficult season at the back.
But do the Gunners need Upamecano?
Amid rumours that £34m will be enough to convince RB Leipzig into selling Upamecano, it seems that Arteta already has France's future centre-back at his disposal which could help save millions this summer.
After all, Upamceano's agent has recently stated that a summer move is unlikely.
"I don’t believe large transfers will take place this summer," Upamecano’s agent, Volker Struth, told German outlet Sport 1.
"And I think Upamecano is a player who will demand a large fee. So the statement has already been made."
