Arsenal and Man Utd fans disagree as Bukayo Saka and Mason Greenwood nominated for Kopa Trophy

Arsenal starlet Bukayo Saka has had a whirlwind year.

The 20-year-old has established himself as one of Mikel Arteta's most important players, registering more key passes in the Premier League than any of his teammates last season.

Saka notched eight goals and ten assists across all competitions last term, solid numbers considering he has played in a plethora of positions, including full-back, during Arteta's tenure.

The skillful winger's consistent displays then earned him the Gunners' player of the year award, beating out competition from the likes of Kieran Tierney and Nicolas Pepe, an impressive feat for a player who only made his first-team debut in November 2018.

England boss Gareth Southgate then included the youngster in his squad for Euro 2020 and he starred for The Three Lions on their way to the final against Italy in July.

However, the Azzurri eventually clinched the trophy, defeating Southgate's side on penalties after Saka missed the decisive spot-kick.

Still, the Hale End graduate has been nominated for the 2021 Kopa Trophy, an award that celebrates the ten best players 21-years-old or under.

He is joined by the likes of Barcelona's Pedri and Manchester United's Mason Greenwood, sparking a regular debate on social media between United and Arsenal fans over which youngster deserves the award more.

Here is how a select few reacted to the nominations.

@didi_powerz: "Saka is clear of Greenwood."

@Cazza7i: "Tbf Greenwood is miles clear of Saka."

@Rutvikbhushan: "its between pedri and greenwood saka doesnt come close."

@AzzaJay7: "Saka shouldn’t be in the same bracket as Mason and Jude. Not on their level."

@wixko91: "What exactly saka did to get nominated?"

@Mogunner8: "Saka deserve it more than pedri if you ask me."

@VektorAce: "It's between saka and pedri."
