Erling Braut Haaland has earned many admiring glances over the course of this season.
The Red Bull Salzburg striker, son of former Leeds United man Alf-Inge Haaland, has taken the Austrian League by storm since arriving from Molde in January.
The 19-year-old has already notched three hat-tricks this season, including one in the Champions League, and has a total of 19 goals to his name in just 15 appearances.
That striking form has led to links with some of Europe's biggest clubs, with Manchester United and Arsenal thought to be interested in him.
United have been the most heavily linked, although football.london understands that Arsenal have sent scouts out to Austria on a number of occasions to watch Haaland and his defensive team-mate Dominik Szoboszlai.
Haaland will not come cheap if anyone tries to sign him in January, but Arsenal and United have been handed something of a boost in the chase for his signature.
His father has admitted that he wants to play in the Premier League.
Speaking to TalkSport, Alf-Inge Haaland said: "At one stage he would like to play in the Premier League, but when that will happen, I don’t know. It is a very tough league.
"Up to now he is ahead of the stage we thought he would be at. He is built for the Premier League, but whether that will happen now or at a later stage, we don’t know.
"He is at Red Bull, a fantastic club playing Champions League so in a way he is in no hurry.
"Red Bull have shown from the past that they are a ‘middle step’ club, and if they are going to recruit players in the future they can’t put a stupid price tag on the players because nobody would want to go there."
