Arsenal and Liverpool target Nabil Fekir 'given green light to complete transfer'

Lyon have given Nabil Fekir the green light to complete a transfer to Real Betis after he asked the club to 'close the deal', according to reports from France.

The France international, who very nearly signed for Liverpool in last summer's transfer window, has been all over Arsenal's radar this month.

But he looks set to sign for La Liga club Real Betis, who have moved ahead of the two Premier League giants in the race for Fekir's signature.

Fekir is set to travel to Sevilla to complete the transfer in the coming days, which will put an end to his eight-year tenure with the Ligue 1 club.

According to French publication RMC Sport, Lyon and Real Betis will reportedly agree on a fee within the next 48 hours to enable to deal to go through.

The report emerges following claims Napoli made a provisional contract offer to Fekir.

The Lyon forward has been strongly linked with the door at Lyon all summer after his former boss Bruno Genesio claimed the Frenchman had reached the 'end of his cycle' at the club.

Arsenal were offered the chance to sign Fekir earlier in the summer as an alternative to £70million Wilfried Zaha, but failed to lodge an official bid.
