Arsenal and Liverpool fall behind in race to sign Hakim Ziyech as Spanish side tipped for move

Arsenal are now the second favourites to sign Ajax star Hakim Ziyech this summer.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for the Moroccan international this summer, although Arsenal are one of a number of potential suitors for the playmaker, who shone for Ajax in their run to the Champions League semi-finals last season.

But while their Premier League rivals Liverpool have also been heavily linked with a move to sign the 26-year-old, it is in fact a Spanish club ahead of both English sides in the race to sign Ziyech.

That's according to bookmakers, who have La Liga side Sevilla as the 13/8 favourites to sign Ziyech, after reports emerged that the Spanish side were considering a move for the former Twente player.

Ziyech is currently away with Morocco at the African Cup of Nations, and has attracted attention from Arsenal fans for his performances so far at the tournament in Egypt.

It has been reported that he is yet to make a decision over his future, but his stock is high this summer after his displays in Europe with the Amsterdam-based side.

And while De Telegraaf  claim that Sevilla hold an interest, Ajax are understood to value Ziyech at €30m, and are unlikely to accept any offers lower than that.
