Arsenal and former Celtic star Kieran Tierney is 'a joy of a kid' says Mikel Arteta

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has called Kieran Tierney "a joy to work with".

Arteta heaped praise on Tierney, who has been a standout for the Gunners since English football returned last month.

Tierney won the club's Player of the Month competition for June, and has turned in a series of impressive displays.

His sublime assist for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's second goal helped Arsenal beat Man City 2-0 in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley, and his manager is delighted with the former Celtic man's progress.

As quoted in Arseblog, Arteta said: “I think I can talk for all the staff when I say we are delighted with him,” said the manager.

“He’s a joy of a kid. He’s always willing to do more, he always wants to train harder, he wants to push himself more. He had some difficult moments since he joined but hopefully he feels settled.

“We really like him and we really support him. I really appreciate everything he’s done since we joined.

“For me, he’s a player who is a really good role model for any other player in the squad.”

Tierney, who has 12 caps for Scotland, joined Arsenal from Celtic for £25m in 2019.
