Arsenal and Edu to regret January transfer mission as Isco reveals Chelsea dream

Mikel Arteta and Edu may regret targeting a move for Isco in the January transfer window.

After landing Thomas Partey, Gabriel Magalhaes, Willian, Alex Runarsson and Dani Ceballos in the summer, Arsenal's next mission is to sign a creative midfielder in the new year.

The likes of Houssem Aouar, Julian Brandt, Christian Eriksen and Emi Buendia - just to name a few - have all been tipped to join the Gunners when the transfer window reopens which is later this week.

And on Tuesday evening, a fresh name entered the running.

It's being reported that the north London outfit are keen to bring Isco to the Emirates Stadium for the second half of the season.

According to the Press Association, any deal bringing the Spaniard to north London would be a half-season loan and Real Madrid would have to pay a percentage of his wage.

However, comments from the attacking midfielder's past are highly unlikely to go down too well amongst the fanbase and could make Arteta and Edu regret making the 28-year-old a target.

Whilst Isco dreams of playing in London, it's not necessarily with the Gunners.

Last year the playmaker was asked by Soccer Bible which stadium he would like to play at that he hasn’t already.

And his response was not the Emirates Stadium.

"Stamford Bridge," was Isco's answer.

Whether that means he is keen on a move to Chelsea, or simply wants to play at the ground as a member of the opposition is up for interpretation.

If it's a dream to play at Stamford Bridge for the Blues and should Isco end up at Arsenal, it's almost certain that Chelsea supporters will make sure they remind their rivals of these particular comments.

With that said, he could get his wish if he does join the Gunners next month.

Frank Lampard's side are due to host Arsenal in May and, if apart of Mikel Arteta's squad, Isco's dream of playing at Stamford Bridge may come true.
