Arsenal and Aston Villa analysts charged by FA for improper conduct following press box bust-up

Analysts from Arsenal and Aston Villa have both been charged by the FA following a last-minute bust-up during their Premier League clash back in February.

The FA statement reads: "Aston Villa's Head of Performance Analysis, Victor Manas, and Arsenal's Technical Analyst Coach Miguel Molina have been charged following their Premier League game on February 18." When discussing Molina's charge, they added: "It is alleged that Miguel Molina's behaviour and/or language during the 94th minute was improper and/or abusive and/or insulting and that his behaviour in the tunnel after the final whistle was also improper." Both have until Friday, March 31 to respond to the charges.

Arsenal won the match at Villa Park 4-2, clinching all three points in dramatic fashion. With the scoreline poised at 2-2 going into injury time, a long-range strike from Jorginho cannoned off the woodwork before going into the net via Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez. As per the BirminghamMail, analysts from either side were seen shouting at each other before stewards eventually intervened.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta addressed the incident after the full-time whistle, saying: "Like anything that happens in the stands. We will look at it, address it and take action if it’s necessary."

The win over Villa was crucial for the north Londoners in their quest to win this season's league title having lost to rivals Manchester City three days prior. Since then, Arteta's side have won five league fixtures on the bounce, currently sitting eight points clear of City in second, albeit the Citizens do game a game in hand.
