Arsenal ace Matteo Guendouzi and Chelsea's Mason Mount named among 20 Golden Boy finalists

The final 20 shortlist for FIFA's Golden Boy award has been announced.

And Arsenal and Chelsea are represented.

The prestigious award is given out by Italian newspaper Tuttosport for the best player under the age of 21 to be playing in the top tier of European football.

Matthijs de Ligt scooped the award in 2018, following in the footsteps of the likes of Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.

An initial shortlist was announced earlier this year, but that has now been whittled down to a final 20 names.

Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi has made the final shortlist, after impressing in his first season in the Premier League.

The 20-year-old has played a starring role in Unai Emery's system at the Emirates, and won the club's player of the month award for September.

But Guendouzi faces stiff competition to scoop the award, with a number of Europe's biggest young stars named.

He also faces competition from a fellow London player - Chelsea's Mason Mount.

Mount starred on loan at Championship club Derby last season, but returned to Chelsea when Frank Lampard made the move from Pride Park to Stamford Bridge and has enjoyed a superb start to the 2019/20 campaign.

He has been given his first England senior call-up by Gareth Southgate and has been one of the standout stars of the Premier League so far this season.

Guendouzi and Mount will be up against 18 other players for the award.
