Bukayo Saka has been nominated for the PFA fans player of the month award for December
The 19-year-old has been one of the few shining lights in Arsenal's underwhelming season so far and continued that form into the final month of 2020.
He has already been named player of the month by his club after managing a goal and an assist to end the year on a high,.
And now Saka's brilliance in December has been recognised by the PFA who have put him up as a nominee for their fans player of the month award.
He will contest the accolade with Bruno Fernandes of Manchester United, as well as Marcus Rashford, Tomas Soucek, Nick Pope and Anwar El Ghazi.
It tops off quite the week for Saka who celebrated the turn of the year with a fantastic goal against Everton before being named Arsenal's player of the month on their official website.
The 19-year-old was also given the honour of being valued higher than Serge Gnabry and Harry Kane in the most recent CIES Football Observatory list.
Saka has been brilliant all season, but really stepped it up in December.
What makes his form even more impressive is the number of positions he has excelled in for Mikel Arteta's side.
Recently he has put Nicolas Pepe and Willian to shame with his form on the right wing, but the youngster also played left wing and wing back last month. He even finished the North London Derby against Tottenham at right back!
He has been key to helping turn the Gunners' form around. His run against Southampton was vital in creating Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's first goal from open play since the opening day of the season near the start of the month, while his 'chip' against Chelsea, and assist for Alex Lacazette against Brighton helped Arsenal to some vital wins that have seen them rise back up the table.
The fact that he has played more minutes than any outfield player for Mikel Arteta's men this season shows how valuable a player he is.
He will be hoping to continue that form when Arsenal take on Newcastle in the FA Cup third round this Saturday.
