Arsenal are set to take on Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening, and Unai Emery is set to heavily rotate his squad from the side that narrowly beat Aston Villa 3-2 on Sunday.
Rob Holding is hoping to complete his comeback from injury following four appearances for the Arsenal Under-23s in recent weeks. The defender's last appearance for the first team was in December, and though he did travel with the senior squad for the Europa League tie against Eintracht Frankfurt, he was not involved with the matchday squad.
Kieran Tierney and Hector Bellerin could be named in the team after making their own comebacks from serious injury in last week's Premier League 2 fixture against Wolves Under-23s.
Konstantinos Mavropanos also started in that game on Friday night, and could feature alongside Shkodran Mustafi in defence.
Elsewhere, Gabriel Martinelli and Folarin Balogun are pushing for appearances in attack, while Mesut Ozil could come into the side after failing to make an appearance against either Frankfurt or Aston Villa in the last week.
Tyreece John-Jules and Robbie Burton are likely to be involved at some stage of the proceedings, while Reiss Nelson is another who is pushing for a start.
While Emery is unlikely to use a number of his first-team stars, two who definitely will not be playing are Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who is serving a one-match suspension after his red card against Aston Villa, and Alexandre Lacazette, who is expected to be out until October.
