Arsenal abandon summer transfer pursuit as problem emerges for Edu over major deal

Here is your Arsenal morning digest for Wednesday, June 2.

Gunners finally abandon sought-after transfer

Whilst this summer is expected to be a busy one at the Emirates Stadium, one man who is not set to move to the club is Brentford’s David Raya.

The Spaniard has long been linked with a move to North London.

However, Edu and Mikel Arteta have abandoned that pursuit with the Bees having earned promotion to the Premier League at the expense of Swansea City.

Edu handed Onana problem

Meanwhile, Arsenal are reportedly close to making one of their first moves of the summer with the signing of Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana.

There’s just one big problem though, the Cameroon stopper is currently banned from football due to breaking doping guidelines earlier this year.

He was originally handed a 12-month ban from the game but has appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

The Gunners will surely be keeping their eyes out for the latest developments on this one.

Aaron Ramsey breaks silence on return rumours

Ever since Aaron Ramsey departed the Emirates Stadium for Juventus, there has seemingly been a never ending stream of rumours concerning a return.

So far, there has been no indication that is a move that the Gunners would consider.

When asked about his future, Ramsey gave a short and snappy answer to put any rumours to bed.

He said: "I'm a Juventus player, yes."
