Arsenal will return to Premier League action on Monday night when they travel to newly-promoted Sheffield United.
The Blades have enjoyed a reasonably good return to the top flight, securing nine points from their first eight games of the season to sit in 13th place.
They will provide a stiff test for Unai Emery's men, although they have only won once and scored twice at Bramall Lane so far this campaign.
However, they lost by just a goal to nil when they face Liverpool recently and would have secured a goalless draw were it not for a horrendous error from goalkeeper Dean Henderson.
Emery will have welcomed a number of stars back from international duty this week, with players returning to London Colney at different times.
But for those who stayed in London, there was also the opportunity to get some minutes on the pitch under their belts too.
Arsenal arranged a behind-closed-doors friendly with Reading during the two-week international break, to get some of their other stars up to full match fitness.
The game took place at London Colney, with Emery giving run outs to Mesut Ozil, Rob Holding, Shkodran Mustafi, Kieran Tierney and Hector Bellerin
There was a notable absentee though - Alexandre Lacazette.
The frontman is back in full training with the Gunners and ready to make a first team return, but was not risked during the friendly with the Royals.
His absence suggests that Emery is keeping him back for some involvement during the game with Sheffield United, which will be music to the fans' ears.
The game at London Colney ended 2-2, with Reading opening the scoring, before Arsenal scored twice. The Royals scored again to secure a draw in the friendly, however.
