Arsen Zakharyan breaks silence on failed Chelsea transfer and urges Dynamo Moscow to re-open talks in January

Arsen Zakharyan has insisted he only has eyes for Chelsea after a summer move to Stamford Bridge collapsed for the Dynamo Moscow starlet.

A £12.6million switch to Stamford Bridge was agreed for the 19-year-old winger in the last transfer window but Fifa restrictions on signing Russian players, amid his country’s invasion of Ukraine, cancelled the deal.

Zakharyan has now said he still wants to make the move, with Standard Sport recently revealing Chelsea’s continued desire to sign him.

“I immediately said that I wanted to go,” he told Sport24 on how he first discovered the Blues’ bid.

“I do not dismiss the option of returning [to Dynamo] on loan but at least I would try myself [at Chelsea], then I'll be back. Maybe it would be possible to start playing there right away.

“I hope that the negotiations will continue in the winter and they will lead somewhere.”

Interest from Spain and Zenit Saint Petersburg has also emerged for Zakharyan, with a switch across Russia no doubt easier to complete.

But he stated: “I want to go to Chelsea now, I don’t want to go to Zenit.

“I have a year and a half of my contract left. I am happy to play for Dynamo but the only place I want to go is Chelsea.

He added: “[Dynamo] gave me everything, I would like them to receive this money for me, so that I can repay them not only with my performances, but also with a transfer.”
