Arrow takes aim at beaten Maroons pack

Queensland's forwards were thoroughly outplayed by their NSW opponents in State of Origin Game I. (AAP)

Queensland forward Jai Arrow says their beaten pack must take responsibility for their record State of Origin loss to NSW, with the domino effect allowing the Blues' backline to run riot in Townsville.

The Maroons' big men were outmuscled in the middle by the Blues, who registered almost 600 more run metres, more than 100 post-contact metres and 15 more metres gained per set in the 50-6 win.

That industry on on Wednesday night powered the Blues' attack, making 10 line breaks to one and forcing Queensland into 52 missed tackles.

Losing prop Christian Welch in the 12th minute to concussion didn't help the Maroons, Arrow admitting they had their colours lowered in their heaviest Origin defeat.

"That's usually what Queensland is built on, playing for each other and your mate, but tonight they pulled our pants down," Arrow said.

"Defensively we weren't sound, in attack we were sloppy; all around the park it wasn't working for us and I don't think we played for each other enough.

"All over the park they were just too good; they skittled us in the middle, we had players on the ground which brought (hooker Damien) Cook into the game.

"Origin is built on tough, hard footy and we have to all put our hands up and say it all went wrong, then move on and prove a point at Suncorp (on June 27)."

Centre Kurt Capewell, tasked with marking three-try star Tom Trbojevic, was shattered post-game and described how helpless the cause felt at times.

"They just kept their momentum, we couldn't win it back and it was a snowball effect," he said.

"One hundred per cent (I take it personally); it means a lot to me this Maroons jersey and we were nowhere near good enough...

"We had the game up in Townsville and we let them down.

"I take it personally, but it was a whole team effort... not many of us hit the mark."
