'Arrow' star Stephen Amell buys in Palm Springs' Movie Colony East

Jan. 08--Actor Stephen Amell and his wife, actress and model Cassandra Jean, have purchased a home in Palm Springs for $740,000.

Located in Movie Colony East, an area steeped in Old Hollywood tradition, the 1954 rancher sits across from Frank Sinatra's onetime desert home on more than a third of an acre.

The 2,100 square feet of living space contain a large formal area, a kitchen, a family room, three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. An open-space dining/living room features a marble fireplace and a wet bar.

Outdoors, the landscaped grounds center on a lap pool with a waterfall feature. A fountain, citrus trees and a lighted putting green complete the desert setting.

Elsewhere is a detached casita and an R.V. garage. A large motor court sits at the front of the home.

Amell, 33, is known for his role as Oliver Queen on the CW series "Arrow." He has also appeared on the HBO show "Hung" as well as the ABC medical drama "Private Practice."

Jean, 29, was a contestant on the fifth season of "America's Next Top Model." Her television credits include appearances on "One Tree Hill" and "CSI: NY."

The property came on the market last summer with an asking price of $759,000, according to the Multiple Listing Service. Lillian Perkins of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage was the listing agent.
