A contestant on The Chase was branded "arrogant and rude" after insulting The Dark Destroyer today.
Salman appeared on the ITV quiz show today and faced Shaun Wallace as he hoped to win some money for his upcoming wedding.
But both viewers and host Bradley Walsh were left with raised eyebrows after a jokey comment fell flat.
Salman had been asked in the main Chase: "Which of these songs was NOT a Number One for Cher?"
He had answered Believe, but it was revealed the correct answer was actually If I Could Turn Back Time.
Shaun also got the question wrong after going for The Shoop Shoop Song.
Salman called out, despite getting the question wrong himself: "Well I guess you'd better pay more attention to your music, sonny!"
Shaun stared back at him, unimpressed, as the audience tittered.
Bradley awkwardly sided up to him and said: "Have that!"
The host attempted to explain, saying: "Sonny and Cher..."
"He didn't like that, did he?" Salman pointed out awkwardly. "Quite a stern look on his face..."
Shaun went on to knock him out and said mockingly: "Unlucky, Sonny - the exit's over there."
Viewers were not impressed with the contestant and took to Twitter to comment.
One tweeted: "#TheChase what a cocky, arrogant little piece of... Salman is. I hope Sean knocks him out in EVERY way."
While another wrote: "Salman is a bit of an arrogant a*** #TheChase."
A third remarked: "Glad he got caught the arrogant boob... glad the dark destroyer told him where the exit was! I'd have said... #TheChase."
However Salman surprised viewers after returning in The Final Chase after all the contestants were knocked out to try and win £1,000 for everyone.
After being chosen by the other contestants, he wowed after winning 19 steps all by himself.
Unfortunately, Salman was caught with just 10 seconds remaining.
Shaun hailed it as the best attempt by a solo player, but added: "You've got my respect - even though you called me Sonny."
