Three people have been arrested after a man was hospitalised with stab wounds on the Central Coast.
Police said a 43-year-old man was in a Subaru on McMasters Road at Blackall about 8.30am on Tuesday when a silver Holden Commodore pulled up beside the vehicle.
Police will allege a 38-year-old man got out of the Holden - he allegedly approached the older man and engaged in an altercation.
It is further alleged the older man was stabbed to the abdomen during the incident.
The younger man fled the scene in the Holden.
The 43-year-old was airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Police saw the Commodore on Ocean View Drive at Umina a short time later. They stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver and sole occupant, a 42-year-old woman.
Officers then attended a nearby home on South Street at Umina Beach, where they arrested a 38-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman.
All three were taken to Gosford Police Station where they are assisting police with their inquiries.
Three crime scenes were being processed at Blackall, Umina and Umina Beach just before noon on Tuesday.
As investigations continue, anyone with information is urged to contact Gosford Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
