Cops have arrested two men after cars belonging to hero health workers were stolen from a Scots hospital car park.
Two motors belonging to staff at University Hospital Ayr were nicked and thieves attempted to steal a third from the hospital car park on February 12.
An extensive probe was launched by police in the aftermath.
On Friday cops executed warrants two addresses on Montgomery Street and Parterre, Irvine.
Two men, aged 39 and 38, have been arrested and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal for their alleged offences.
Detective Chief Inspector Mick Carr of the Divisional Acquisitive Crime Team said: "Officers from Ayrshire have worked alongside our partners and the community in order to gather information relating to these incidents.
"This partnership approach has resulted with the positive arrest of two males. Combating acquisitive crime remains a top priority for policing here in Ayrshire.
"We will continue our efforts to target those whose criminality causes angst within the community.
"I appeal to members of the community to continue to work with the police and provide any information that they have on those who carry out these crimes. If you have any information on any issues within your local community please contact your Local Police by calling 101 (always 999 in an emergency) or alternatively Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 where anonymity can be maintained.
