Five men are facing theft charges after allegedly stealing more than $1 million worth of items in a spate of ram raids on high-end fashion stores.
Police raided a number of homes and storage units in Cranbourne, Dandenong and Springvale in Melbourne's southeast following the six luxury store break-ins in the CBD and Essendon between March 6 and April 16.
Detectives seized luxury handbags, stolen vehicles, drugs and jewellery, with the luxury items worth about $1.2 million in total.
They arrested three men on Tuesday, a 21-year-old from Springvale and two 31-year-old men from Cranbourne, and charged them with numerous theft, drugs and criminal damage offences.
The trio are due to face the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
A 30-year-old Springvale man is also facing theft and drug charges allegedly committed while out on bail, and has been bailed again for an August appearance at Dandenong Magistrates' Court.
A 30-year-old man from Dandenong was released pending a court appearance.
Four luxury stores on Collins St, one on Bourke St and a store in Essendon were targeted in the spree.
The latest raid in the CBD on April 16 left shelves bare and clothes strewn on the ground at British luxury fashion house Burberry after crooks used a grey Hilux ute to break through the front windows.
No one was inside and the thieves were later seen fleeing in a grey BMW.
Burglars had used a car to smash the windows at Italian brand Fendi on the same premium shopping strip days earlier, but roller doors prevented them from entering to steal any designer goods.
Louis Vuitton, David Jones and Dior stores in the area have also been targeted since early March.
