Two men have been arrested after a car hit a bridge and plummeted into a river in Stockport.
Police patrolling Bredbury spotted a Renault Clio believed to be on false plates at around 11pm on Monday evening (October 18).
The car failed to stop for police and was chased.

The Clio vehicle hit a bridge on Otterspool Road in Offerton before falling into the nearby river.
A huge search operation was launched at the River Goyt in Romiley following concerns that a person was in the water.
Rescuers spent almost three hours searching the river, but the search was eventually called off after no person was found.
Two men - aged 25 and 26 - have now been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
They remain in custody for questioning.
A third man is thought to have made off prior to police arrival.
The car has since been recovered from the river.
Police enquiries remain ongoing.
