Arrest warrant issued in shooting death of Dolton mother

Marshia Bowman | Facebook

An arrest warrant has been issued in the shooting death of Marshia Bowman, who was killed last month in Dolton while driving her four kids from a daycare in the south suburbs.

Authorities issued the warrant in the last day or two, Dolton trustee Andrew Holmes said.

“Police are still looking for him as we speak,” according to Holmes, who said police believe the suspect is still in the south suburbs.

Bowman, 40, was shot in the head Aug. 21 as she was driving her girls — ages 1, 4, 8 and 9 — near the intersection of Sibley and Chicago roads, blocks from their home, Holmes has said.

She crashed her minivan into a tree about 7 p.m., and was taken to a hospital, where she died two days later, authorities said. None of her kids was hurt.

Dolton police said the shooter may have been targeting a vehicle in front of Bowman’s.
