Arrest warrant issued for two NT teens allegedly involved in fatal hit-and-run

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of two teenagers in the Northern Territory allegedly involved in a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of a 47-year-old motorcyclist.

Two 19-year-old men and three youths — aged 16, 15 and 13 — face charges including hit-and-run causing serious harm, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and failing to rescue or provide help.

The 15-year-old boy is facing additional charges including driving while unlicensed and entering an intersection with a red light.

The motorcyclist died in hospital on Thursday, a week after the incident.

Northern Territory Police have since said the charges are expected to be upgraded.

The 13-year-old appeared in court today and had his matter adjourned to November 16.

One of the 19-year-olds was remanded in custody to appear at a later date, while the other will face court next month.

The 15 and 16-year-olds were bailed to appear before the court today, but they could not be located by their lawyers when they attended addresses provided to them by police.

A warrant has been issued for their arrest.
