Arrest warrant issued for ex-Celtic assistant, player Walter McCarty

Former Boston Celtics assistant coach and player Walter McCarty has a warrant out for his arrest after failing to appear in a civil case filed by Old National Bank, who allege the former Celtic defaulted on a $75,000 private line of credit, reports IndyStar’s Chad Lindskog.

This isn’t even the first time McCarty skipped out on a court appearance for the case — and it is by far the lesser legal situation the former Boston assistant is involved in.

The University of Evansville product left the Celtics to coach his former team in 2018, only to be fired after a Title IX investigation into his conduct in that role.

Soon after, he would be accused of sexual assault by an Evansville student, who retained a powerful national law firm but has not yet brought charges against McCarty at this time.

The Celtic alumnus’ fall from grace has been swift; McCarty — who still lives in the Boston area — has not commented on the warrant, or the charges pending against him in multiple court cases publicly.
