An arrest warrant has been issued for a 32-year-old Elgin man charged with defrauding a Geneva woman in a roof repair job.

Nicholas R. Difiore allegedly cashed a $1,000 check to fix a Geneva woman’s roof in September 2019, but he never began the project and stopped responding to the victim, the Kane County state’s attorney’s office said in a statement.

Difiore is charged with a felony count of aggravated home repair fraud and a felony count of theft, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors asked anyone who knows his whereabouts to call Geneva police at 630-232-4736.
