AN arrest has been made in connection to an assault in South Queensferry after a man died at the scene.

Police received a report of an assault on Morison Gardens at around 6.10am on Friday.

Emergency services attended, but a 54-year-old man died at the scene.

The force has said it is treating his death as suspicious, with a post-mortem examination set to be carried out to establish the cause of death.

A 58-year-old man has been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.

The street is currently closed, along with a partial closure of Stewart Terrace, as officers conduct enquiries.

Officers will be making additional patrols in the area to offer reassurance to the local community.

The public is being urged to speak to them if they have any concerns or information which can assist in the investigation.
