A person has been arrested following the recovery of a loaded firearm by Gardai in West Dublin house search. yesterday.
Detective Gardaí attached to Ballyfermot Garda Station searched a house yesterday, Thursday April 15.
Cannabis roughly worth €20,000 was also seized in the Ballyfermot house, analysis of it’s worth is currently pending.
One person was arrested and has since been charged and brought before the Courts.
Chief Superintendent Finbarr Murphy who has responsibility for policing in Dublin West commended the Gardai for their excellent work and dedication to making Ballyfermot a safer community to live in.
He said: “Ballyfermot is a wonderful part of Dublin city, full of great people who are proud of their community and who are willing to work really hard to continue to improve the area so that everyone, young and old can be proud of the area that they live in and that they are part of.
“Local Gardai are also part of that community and we have a really important role to play in keeping our community safe.”
