An arrest has been made after police were called to reports of a man with a gun.
Merseyside Police were called to Selwyn Street, Kirkdale, at around 7.20am on Tuesday, January 24, after witnesses reported seeing a man with a gun. Police attended and said a man, in his 30s, was found nearby.
He was arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm. It has been reported that the gun was not used to threaten anyone.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "We were contacted at 7.20am today, Tuesday January 24, following reports a man was seen in the Selwyn Street area of Kirkdale with a gun. Officers attended and a man in his 30s was located nearby and arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm.
"There is no suggestion the gun was fired or used to threaten anyone and there are no reports of any injuries or damage caused. An investigation is underway and enquiries are being carried out in the local area."
