Arrest made after 'damaging' Concert Square videos shared online

Police have arrested a woman after "damaging" videos of two people having sex in Concert Square were shared online.

A number of r ecordings began circulating earlier this week appearing to show a man and a woman having sex and performing sex acts yards from the entrance of Einstein Bier Haus and in full view of bystanders. Other clips have also emerged showing the pair appearing to have sex on Bold Street and on a Merseyrail train service.

Earlier today Liverpool mayor Joanne Anderson slammed the behaviour as "damaging and criminal". Superintendent Diane Pownall, of Merseyside Police Liverpool Community Policing team, also shared a strongly worded statement on the incident and said the pair are 'wanted'.

In an update, Merseyside Police said a 37-year-old woman from the Bradford area was arrested on suspicion of outraging public decency. She is currently being questioned by police.

Enquiries remain ongoing to identify the man in the video and anyone with any further information is asked to get in touch with police.

Detective Inspector Neil Dillon said: “This swift arrest shows that such behaviour simply will not be tolerated on Merseyside. While it’s good news that we have made an arrest, our investigation into this incident remains ongoing.

"I would continue to urge people to refrain from sharing the video on social media and instead report anything they know to us directly, so that we can take action.”
