A Taree woman has been arrested in relation to the death of Jason Adams in a Raymond Terrace street on the weekend.
A NSW Police spokeswoman confirmed the woman's arrest is connected to the Saturday incident, where Mr Adams was found bleeding from multiple stab wounds at the intersection of Payton Street and Watt Street at 5.45am. The spokeswoman said officers attached to the Manning Great Lakes and Mid North Coast police districts attended a motel in North Haven around 12.30am on Monday and arrested the woman, 21, on an outstanding warrant. "Detectives from Port Stephens Hunter Police District have travelled to Port Macquarie Police Station where she remains in custody," the spokesperson said. "Investigations are continuing."
No charges have been laid.
Mr Adams, 27, is believed to have been at a house in Payton Street early on Saturday morning when a dispute started and spilled out onto the street. It's believed he was chased and stabbed, with the attack spilling into a neighbouring front yard, before he collapsed bleeding.
