A man has been arrested in connection with William Leiper's Glasgow park murder probe.
The 31-year-old burning body was found in Househill Park, in the Pollok area of the city around 7.35am on Wednesday.
Now a 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection as investigations continue.
His death was initially treated as 'unexplained' however Police Scotland have now confirmed that they believed he was murdered.
Before he died, Leiper was charged with multiple sex attacks and violent assaults on a woman over a period of several years.
He went on trial at Glasgow High Court but was acquitted of all charges on July 30.
Cops are now urging anyone with information on the incident to come forward.
Police Scotland said: "We can today, Friday 13 August, confirm that a 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of William Leiper in Glasgow.
"Mr Leiper, 31, was found in Househill Park, in the Pollok area of the city around 7.35am on Wednesday, 4 August, 2021.
"Enquires are continuing to establish the full circumstances and anyone with information who has not already spoken to officers is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0562 of Wednesday, 4 August, 2021.
