Arrest in attempted murder probe after man found seriously injured in Ayr supermarket car park

A man has been arrested in in connection an attempted murder probe in Ayrshire.

It comes after a 35-year-old man was found seriously injured at a supermarket car park in Ayr.

He was rushed to Ayr Hospital for treatment but has since been released.

Police have arrested a 35-year-old man over the assault which happened in the car park of the Aldi store on Main Street, Ayr, on Sunday, 27 September.

He will appear at Ayr Sheriff Court on Monday, 5 October 2020.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "A 35-year-old man has been arrested and charged following the attempted murder of a 35-year-old man in a supermarket car park in Main Street, Ayr on Sunday, 27 September.

"The man will appear at Ayr Sheriff Court on Monday, 5 October 2020. The victim has since been released from hospital.

"The public are thanked for their assistance with this matter."
